Jude Robinson has welcomed local campaigner Janet Hulme as the North Cornwall candidate for Labour.
Jude said: "Janet has worked hard for Labour and Cornwall over many years and it is typical of her commitment that she is prepared to do even more as a candidate in unexpected circumstances. We all welcome her and are delighted to be working with her."
Labour has selected North Cornwall resident Janet Hulme as their new candidate in North Cornwall, after former candidate Peter Watson had to step down due to ill health.
Labour's Candidate in North Cornwall, Janet Hulme, said:
''Although I have become the candidate in unfortunate circumstances, it is a real privilege to represent Labour here in North Cornwall. I look forward to working with Labour candidates across Cornwall to oppose the Conservative threat to our public services and the Lib Dems who have let Cornwall down.
''I would like to thank Peter for all his hard work here, and I will continue to fight hard to win this seat for Labour. Labour has made real progress since 1997, with shorter hospital waiting lists, reduced crime and the introduction of the National Minimum Wage - change which the Conservatives opposed.''
